2013-02-04arch Kconfig: Remove references to IRQ_PER_CPUJames Hogan
The IRQ_PER_CPU Kconfig symbol was removed in the following commit: Commit 6a58fb3bad099076f36f0f30f44507bc3275cdb6 ("genirq: Remove CONFIG_IRQ_PER_CPU") merged in v2.6.39-rc1. But IRQ_PER_CPU wasn't removed from any of the architecture Kconfig files where it was defined or selected. It's completely unused so remove the remaining references. 2012-11-17irq_work: Remove CONFIG_HAVE_IRQ_WORKFrederic Weisbecker
irq work can run on any arch even without IPI support because of the hook on update_process_times(). So lets remove HAVE_IRQ_WORK because it doesn't reflect any backend requirement. 2012-09-28Make most arch asm/module.h files use asm-generic/module.hDavid Howells
Use the mapping of Elf_[SPE]hdr, Elf_Addr, Elf_Sym, Elf_Dyn, Elf_Rel/Rela, ELF_R_TYPE() and ELF_R_SYM() to either the 32-bit version or the 64-bit version into asm-generic/module.h for all arches bar MIPS. Also, use the generic definition mod_arch_specific where possible. To this end, I've defined three new config bools: (*) HAVE_MOD_ARCH_SPECIFIC Arches define this if they don't want to use the empty generic mod_arch_specific struct. (*) MODULES_USE_ELF_RELA Arches define this if their modules can contain RELA records. This causes the Elf_Rela mapping to be emitted and allows apply_relocate_add() to be defined by the arch rather than have the core emit an error message. (*) MODULES_USE_ELF_REL Arches define this if their modules can contain REL records. This causes the Elf_Rel mapping to be emitted and allows apply_relocate() to be defined by the arch rather than have the core emit an error message. Note that it is possible to allow both REL and RELA records: m68k and mips are two arches that do this. With this, some arch asm/module.h files can be deleted entirely and replaced with a generic-y marker in the arch Kbuild file. Additionally, I have removed the bits from m32r and score that handle the unsupported type of relocation record as that's now handled centrally. 2012-05-21timers: Fixup the Kconfig consolidation falloutThomas Gleixner
Sigh, I missed to check which architecture Kconfig files actually include the core Kconfig file. There are a few which did not. So we broke them. Instead of adding the includes to those, we are better off to move the include to init/Kconfig like we did already with irqs and others. This does not change anything for the architectures using the old style periodic timer mode. It just solves the build wreckage there. For those architectures which use the clock events infrastructure it moves the include of the core Kconfig file to "General setup" which is a way more logical place than having it at random locations specified by the architecture specific Kconfigs. 2012-05-05hexagon: Use generic idle_taskThomas Gleixner
Same code. Use the generic version. The special Makefile treatment is pointless anyway as init_task.o contains only data which is handled by the linker script. 2011-11-24lib: move GENERIC_IOMAP to lib/KconfigMichael S. Tsirkin
